The Infant Classroom: A Safe Start with Discovery
Our infant classroom is a calm and welcoming space where the youngest children begin to explore their world. Designed with soft textures, gentle music, and warm lighting, this environment invites babies to feel safe while stimulating their natural curiosity.
Infant Program Features:
Daily routines of singing, storytelling, and personal connection
Age-appropriate toys such as hand drums, rattles, crinkle books, and textured mats
Open floor spaces for crawling, rolling, and stretching
Visual, auditory, and tactile stimulation without overstimulation
Teachers engage infants during feedings and diapering using eye contact, naming, and conversation
Individualized attention and emotional bonding built into every interaction
Parents are asked to provide labeled bottles, clean sheets (twice weekly), extra clothes, bibs, diapers, wipes, and creams to ensure continuity between home and school.
The Toddler Classroom: Language, Movement, and Exploration
Toddlers at Montessori of Woodridge are immersed in a language-rich environment where every routine is a chance to grow and learn. Our toddler room balances physical activity with focused learning time and social interaction.
Toddler Program Highlights:
Pull toys, push carts, floor tunnels, and climbing pillows for gross motor play
Songs, books, puppets, and flannel board storytelling to promote language development
Naming games and object identification for early vocabulary building
Group play, dramatic exploration, and teacher-led music time
Introduction to self-help skills like washing hands, dressing, and mealtime independence
Early potty introduction with child-accessible facilities in the classroom
Calm, consistent routines that support predictability and security
Teachers encourage toddlers to express their needs, observe others, and grow socially through shared experiences and gentle boundaries.

The Twos Classroom: A Foundation of Independence
The two-year-old classroom at Montessori of Woodridge is where children begin to apply their learning from earlier stages while exploring more structured group interaction and self-reliance.
This classroom acts as a transition space — still filled with movement, music, and imaginative play, but now incorporating early academic foundations, responsibility, and choice.
Two-Year-Old Program Includes:
Art materials: painting easels, chalkboards, paper, and colored pencils
Table-based activities for pouring, spooning, stacking, and sorting
Independent tasks: putting on aprons, cleaning up work areas, helping set the table
Snack prep and self-service with support from teachers
Music and rhythm games, dance, and group movement
Dramatic play with dress-up, trains, blocks, and dollhouse props
Letter-sound recognition, counting, and simple sequencing games
Nature walks and outdoor play to extend sensory and language learning
Two-year-olds begin to express themselves more clearly and understand classroom expectations. They begin to take pride in completing tasks and contributing to their environment.

Montessori education for infants, toddlers, and two-year-olds goes far beyond daycare. It’s about planting seeds of independence, encouraging exploration, and celebrating small victories every day.
